Since the first Gucci Bamboo bag was created in 1947, its iconic bamboo handle has been handcrafted by artisans over an open flame, requiring more than 400 steps to complete. The exhibition spans seven galleries, showcasing this classic collection through archival pieces, immersive installations, and contemporary art, exploring its history, culture, and design. One of the most impressive areas faithfully recreates the Gucci ArtLab workshop in Florence, where the bamboo handle bags are meticulously assembled. The exhibition venue, Sun Ke Villa, is also a historic building. Built in 1931, it was originally designed by the renowned Hungarian architect László Hudec for his own use and later transferred to Sun Ke, son of Sun Yat-sen. The main building is in the Spanish style, with a simple and elegant facade, reflecting the style and grandeur of modern Western architecture.
