In the Year of the Snake, immerse yourself in the divine light at Longhua Temple.

After seeing a post on social media mentioning that people born in the Year of the Snake, Tiger, Pig, or Monkey would offend the God of Age (Tai Sui) in the Year of the Snake, I invited my friends to visit Longhua Temple on a working day to worship Tai Sui. We arrived at the temple before noon. Upon entering, we found a QR code to purchase incense. After scanning the code and making the payment, we each took a bundle of incense and circled the temple's main gate three times. Then, we entered the temple, lit three incense sticks, and made our wishes. Those who need to purchase a Tai Sui package can find it at the corridor on the west side of the entrance square. Both the worship and thanksgiving ceremonies for Tai Sui are conducted in the same area, so be careful not to purchase the wrong package. After filling out the information on the Tai Sui package, proceed to the Hall of Longevity for the offering. In addition to Tai Sui packages, there are also places to purchase Tai Sui red ropes, Sanhe bracelets, and other Buddhist items. If you prefer to avoid crowds, you can purchase these items outside the temple. Even on a working day, the temple was bustling with worshippers. The temple's cats and dogs were leisurely basking in the sun. The main hall of the temple offers free scripture copying. If you have time, you can copy the Heart Sutra. At the innermost part of the temple is the Longhua Vegetarian Restaurant, where you can enjoy a bowl of vegetarian noodles. The noodles are self-service, and you can scan the QR code on the table to pay after your meal.
