Chen Guichun Residence.

Chen Guichun Residence was completed in 1925 after three years of construction. It is a five-bay, four-courtyard, three-yard residence. When the building was about to be demolished during the Lujiazui real estate development, Tongji University student Wu Jiang stood in front of the bulldozer to stop the demolition, saving this Jiangnan-style courtyard house. However, the fourth courtyard and the side alleys of the wing rooms were already destroyed and are no longer visible today. Chen Guichun made his fortune through barge transportation, contracting coal and sleeper transportation, and bought five acres of land in Lujiazui to build a house. During the Republic of China period, Shanghai was greatly influenced by Western architecture, and Chen Guichun Residence is a fusion of Chinese and Western architecture. Despite the luxury of the mansion, Chen Guichun modestly named it "Yingchuan Xiaozhu."
