Located at No. 14, Lane 393, Wujin Road, Sichuan North Road, within Jin Chao Ba Nong, the Shanghai Style Cultural Center, the three-row house was originally the RoyalHotel Royal Hotel, designed by Xing Tai Electric Light Company in 1927. It features a double-sloped red tile roof, red and blue brick exterior walls, multiple triangular gables on the north facade, and a continuous arcade on the south facade. Hongkou is the cradle of Chinese cinema. The first movie screening in China and the first cinema both started in Hongkou. The first floor of the current house exhibits 'Listening to the Tides of the Sea, Radiant with Light and Color - Sichuan North Road and the Dawn of Chinese Cinema.' The second floor features a special exhibition on the dance drama film 'The Eternal Wave.' Free visiting hours: 9:30-11:30, 13:30-16:00, closed on Mondays.
