Namhansanseong Fortress Wall

The Namhansanseong Fortress Wall and South Gate are representative heritage sites that showcase the military strategies and architectural techniques of the Joseon Dynasty. The South Gate, in particular, serves as the central structure of the fortress and holds historical significance. It is a popular attraction and the largest and most grandiose of the four main gates of Namhansanseong. Renovated in the 3rd year of King Jeongjo's reign (1779), it was adorned with a plaque reading 'Jihwamun.' Currently, it is the only gate among the four main gates that still retains its plaque. This site is a valuable place where visitors can experience both history and nature simultaneously. 👍
