[Akita Prefecture] A spring spectacle! A fantastic submerged forest spot, Lake Akisen

Lake Shusenko is one of the dam lakes near Lake Tazawa in Senboku City, Akita Prefecture. Located along National Route 341, In spring, a large amount of meltwater flows into the dam lake, and the trees sink to the bottom of the lake as the water level rises. This natural phenomenon is called a "submerged forest" and is known as a spring feature. The trees that stand as if they have roots growing out of the marine blue lake are fantastic. Especially in the early morning, the morning mist tends to roll in, and you may come across a divine sight that seems out of this world. This is a popular submerged forest spot comparable to Lake Shirakawa in Yamagata Prefecture. There is no parking lot, so you will have to limit yourself to a small space by the bridge.
