Sekinchan Paddy Gallery: Where Rice Meets Discovery

#malaysiatrip Located in the heart of the lush paddy fields of #sekinchan, the Sekinchan Paddy Processing Factory & Gallery is one of Malaysia’s hidden rural gems. This family-run gallery offers a unique and educational insight into the full rice production cycle — from planting to packaging — and is an unmissable stop when visiting this coastal town in #selangor. 📍 Where it’s located The gallery sits inside the largest rice plantation in Sekinchan. The full address is: Paddy Processing Factory & Gallery, Lot 9990, Jalan Tali Air 5, Ban 2, 45400 Sekinchan, Selangor, Malaysia. It’s easy to access by car or scooter and just a 5-minute drive from Sekinchan town. Free parking is available, and the space is wheelchair-friendly. 💰 How much it costs Entrance fee is around RM 5 (roughly 1 euro), which includes a free snack made of puffed rice 🍘 — local, crunchy, and sweet! 🕘 Opening hours Open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Try to visit in the morning for ideal lighting and fewer crowds. 📖 What you’ll see inside • An educational exhibition with visuals explaining the different stages of rice farming • Real machinery used in drying, milling, and packing the rice • A short documentary film (in Malay and English) showing the history and daily work of local rice farmers • A gift shop with rice products, snacks, sweets, and handmade souvenirs • A rooftop viewing deck with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding rice fields 🌾 🍚 What makes it special • The fields here mainly grow Jasmine rice, known for its soft texture and fragrant aroma • This region is one of the top rice-producing areas in Malaysia, yielding thousands of tonnes annually • The gallery is owned by a local farming family, and some of the staff are actual farmers, which adds to the authenticity 📸 Best photo spots • The rooftop deck during harvest season (March–May or September–November), when the fields turn golden • Vintage agricultural machinery for rustic, industrial-style photos • The giant inflatable rice sack at the entrance — a fun spot for selfies! 🛍️ Gift shop On the ground floor, you can buy locally packaged Jasmine rice, rice crackers, puffed rice snacks, floral teas, and even rice-themed apparel. Perfect for a meaningful souvenir
