Wiang Kum Kam, the underground city of Chiang Mai Province

Wiang Kum Kam, Chiang Mai Province, is known as the underground city because it is an ancient kingdom of Lanna that was flooded and buried throughout the kingdom. The locals excavated the site about 30-40 years ago and notified the Fine Arts Department to come and inspect it. Wiang Kum Kam currently lives with a community of locals.
