Kanthom Temple

#ChiangmaiTravel Wat Kan Thom, an ancient temple of Wiang Kum Kam, the origin of the discovery of Wiang Kum Kam Wat Kan Thom or Wat Chang Kham is an important temple of Wiang Kum Kam along with Wat Ku Kham. The reason for the name Wat Kan Thom is because it was named after Mr. Kan Thom or the grandson of Phraya Mangrai, who built this temple. Phraya Mangrai ordered the construction of this temple to enshrine the relics from Sri Lanka. The shape of the pagoda has a base of 12 meters wide and 18 meters high, with niches in 4 directions. The lower floor houses 4 Buddha images and the upper floor houses 1 standing Buddha image. The last repair of the Kan Thom pagoda was in the late reign of King Rama V.
