The 1st to 3rd floors are department stores, and the 4th to 6th floors are the aquarium. Transportation tips: Get off at Sapporo Tram Tanukikoji Station. Take the Sapporo Metro Namboku Line, get off at Odori Station or Susukino Station, and walk towards Tanukikoji. The business hours are from 10 am to 10 pm. The ticket office is on the 4th floor. There are three touch-screen ticket machines and a manual counter. An artificial seawater making machine is displayed at the entrance. The seawater in the museum is recycled by this machine. Walking further inside, it feels like entering a laboratory, with incubators of all sizes displayed, used to cultivate new life or care for sick marine life. Seaweed of various sizes is kept in a circular aquarium, and the display method is quite novel. There are so many species that you can see Japanese eels, salamanders, hermit crabs, and horseshoe crabs that you have never seen in Hokkaido before, which is amazing. The 5th floor has the aquariums commonly seen in general aquariums. Each aquarium has a different theme. The lighting in this area is particularly dim, but you can clearly see the vitality of the creatures in the aquarium. The other area returns to the layout of a laboratory. There is no gorgeous decoration in this area, but the configuration of the aquarium allows a 360-degree view. Some marine creatures have never been seen in other aquariums, and some relatively unfamiliar marine creatures are also raised. The 6th floor is the highlight of the entire aquarium. The open exhibition area cleverly uses a pool to separate the penguins from the tourists. In fact, you can really touch the swimming penguins with your hands. These little blue penguins and northern crested penguins have different personalities, so those who like penguins must come here. On the other side of the 6th floor, different species of jellyfish are displayed. The dreamy and mysterious blue lights are also very attractive, and it is very therapeutic to sit and watch. There is also a light meal cafe where you can drink coffee while watching penguins playing in the water. Before leaving, you can go to the digital art space "Blue House", where lights and projections make you immersed in the seabed. Finally, go back to the 4th floor where there is a simple store with a lot of salamanders and frogs... I originally thought that it would only take an hour to finish the tour, but it took three hours.
