I absolutely LOVE looking back at trip photos... 📸

Especially if they're from trips to warm countries! ☀️ So in February, we decided to swap Thailand for Hainan and flew into Sanya, specifically to Yalong Bay. ‼️ Yalong Bay is considered one of the best bays not just on Hainan, but in the whole of China! It's just over the hills from Dadonghai (super popular with Russians) and a couple of hills over from Sanya itself. Because of that, it has this super chill, peaceful resort vibe. 😌 We stayed at the Grand Mercure Sanya Yalong Bay hotel, and I wanna tell you about that place. 🧷 The hotel is HUGE, like a proper resort. They've got 3 pools (1 heated), a traditional Chinese medicine clinic, gym, beauty salon, massage place, spa, billiards... the works! It's right next to the main shopping street packed with little shops and restaurants (where they cheerfully speak Russian!). There's also a small amusement park nearby, plus Starbucks, KFC, McDonald's. ✨ The beach is only like a 5-7 minute walk away. Honestly, the hotel itself has seen so many tourists it's kinda... tired. 😅 First time, we got super unlucky with the room – stuck out in the middle of nowhere, dirty windows, broken shower. We arrived at 2 AM and honestly, I just didn't have the energy to argue right then. 😴 The next morning, I pestered the reception and, after some hassle, they moved us to a slightly bigger and marginally better room (still looked just as worn out), complete with an open-air jacuzzi right opposite the front door. 🤷♀️ 💙 BUT, the hotel grounds are massive and really beautiful! Palm trees everywhere, little streams, lotus flowers blooming. They even zip guests around in little open buggies. Total paradise vibes! Breakfasts were mostly aimed at Chinese guests – practically zero European food. Had to make do with toast and jam croissants. 🥐☕️ 🔖 Room prices start around 5000₽ per night, you can book it here. All in all, I don't regret staying there.
