Walk into American TV Series | Explore the City of Angels, Los Angeles
The place where you see Los Angeles the most is probably in American TV series. Finally, I had the chance to drive along Highway 1 and see the real-life scenes from the TV.
The most unforgettable thing about Los Angeles, besides the purple beach of Santa Monica, is the high parking fees! $40/hour, I guess I won't have the chance to park in a more expensive parking lot in my lifetime.
✅ Attractions Introduction:
Universal Studios - A collection of roller coasters, highly recommend the Harry Potter themed area, the level of detail is just too high!
Griffith Observatory - The sun sets around 19:00-20:00, you can see the purple-pink sky and the golden observatory;
Desert Hills Premium Outlets - It is said to have 180 brands, including Fendi, Burberry, BV, but no LV or Gucci. It's good for buying American local brands, and out-of-season Coach items are really cheap!
Beverly Hills - The name itself sounds high-end, a collection of various brands, don't miss it if you want to shop!
Santa Monica Beach - Next to the Pacific Ocean! The best time for photos is in the evening when you can capture the pink sky. ⚠️ The parking meters on the roadside charge $2.5/hour, and you have to buy at least 3 hours!
Angels Flight - The famous scene in LALA LAND where the male and female leads kiss is on Angels Flight. This short 1KM railway is built on a slope and witnessed the brief but beautiful love between Mia and Sebastian;
Grand Central Market - Foreign markets always have a kind of allure, just like the market in Barcelona redefined my understanding of markets. Most stores in LA start their business day at 10 AM;
Staples Center - The timing wasn't right, it wasn't NBA season, so I couldn't get into the arena. Even though I'm not a basketball fan, I still hope to watch a game of the world-famous NBA;
✅ Car Rental and Usage:
⭕️ After exiting Los Angeles International Airport, follow the signs to the designated area to wait for your car rental company's shuttle bus;
⭕️ The shuttle bus will take you to the car rental hall, which is not far, about a 5-10 minute drive;
⭕️ Register yourself at the self-service kiosk to complete the car rental process, then go out and pick up the car;
⭕️ The actual car you get may be different from the model you booked (I booked a Corolla but got a Nissan), but it will be a vehicle of the same class;
⭕️ The car comes with a navigation system, but to be safe, it's better to use your phone's navigation to the hotel;
⭕️ The hotel only offers paid parking services, $36 per day (excluding tax), unlike in China where hotel parking is usually free;
⭕️ In the US, you can refuel at the machine with a chip-enabled credit card or go inside to the counter, tell the clerk the pump number, the fuel grade, and the amount, then go out and refuel yourself;
⭕️ At intersections in the US, if there is a stop sign, you must come to a complete stop and make sure there are no people before proceeding;
⭕️ If you encounter a school bus unloading or an ambulance, you must pull over and stop;
⭕️ ⚠️ Be sure to have sunglasses ready, the UV rays in LA are very strong, and the afternoon sun can easily make you feel tired;

Glowing Lights of Santa Monica Pier 🎡🎢
You might have seen the iconic Santa Monica pier in numerous movies, TV shows and music videos. I found my visit to Santa Monica Pier at night to be a mesmerizing experience.
To get here, I took the Metro E Line to the final stop, Downtown Santa Monic, from downtown Los Angeles. It is quite a long ride, considering you ride more than half the length of the entire line, but it is comfortable and convenient. From there metro station, it is then just a short walk over the pier.
Approaching it from afar for the first time, I saw how the pier was a vibrant hub of activity and lights. Strolling along the wooden planks, I was captivated by the theme park rides on the pier, particularly the colourful Ferris wheel which casted a magical glow against the dark sky as it spun. The sound of kids laughing and the happy chatter of people around filled the air, blending with the rhythmic crashing of waves below. At the end of the pier, I could see the dark and vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean.
Santa Monica Pier is a must-visit destination when visiting Los Angeles as it is a gem on the Southern California coastline.

📍Santa Monica Pier
200 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA 90401, United States
Visited this stunning beach in Los Angeles during our recent trip! We visited during day time and night time. It was really full of crowds at the pier area when we visited on a weekend evening, but the beach area was alright! There are a lot of stalls selling souvenirs and also restaurants like Bubba Gump Shrimp Co at the pier area. Besides, there is also a mini theme park and arcade there, how fun was that! We spent around 3 hours at the beach area, just chilling and enjoying the sea view and sea breeze! We also had dinner at one of the restaurant called The Albright, fish and chip was delicious and good too!
I wish to travel to Hong Kong for the food!

The Infamous Santa Monica, Los Angeles
Santa Monica is an iconic beachside town in Los Angeles, California. It is famous for being the setting for countless films, tv shows and music videos - you will definitely recognize the ferris wheel at the end of the pier.
Santa Monica has plenty of shops and restaurants and a cute little old town, it has a more relaxed vibe compared to other shopping areas of Los Angeles and is a lot more pedestrianized. Moving towards the coast Santa Monica has one of the longest and cleanest beaches in the county and the water is calm enough for swimming and relaxing. If you look up the coast you can see as far as Malibu to the north and the Airport to the south.
There is also the famous pier which is the western start / terminus of the famous route 66, you will see the road signs along the end of the pier. There are lots of amusements, cafes and snack shops and of course the ferris wheel!
It’s a good spot to head to at different times of the day, it’s quieter in the morning for sure but the night with everything lit up makes it so special so worth checking out both times to feel the different vibes.

Santa Monica-The seaside in my Dream 🎡
By the beach, a Ferris wheel🛳 so high,
At the end of Highway 66, where dreams fly☁️,
Coastline embraced by palm trees🌴, oh so grand,
Seagulls dancing in the sky, a sight so grand🤩.
Open your eyes to a window, beach🏖 in sight,
Creamy white streets, bathed in golden light,
Philz Coffee☕️ ft Mint Mojito, a delightful sip,

These squirrels did not concentrate in a single spot, they are literally seen throughout the park with habitat on the edge and underground. We can also spot plenty of seagulls flying along and stopping at the fence. We tried to get up close and manage to get quite a number of good photo as well.

"Candytopia candy-controlled paradise pop-up candy museum"
In recent years pop up shops, exhibition halls, museums are very popular. They satisfy the desire of modern people to love to share photos and create a dreamy photo set. From the Ice Cream Museum of the earliest fires to the Color Museum, TeamLab, Candy Museum... These short-term exhibitions make people in the city crazy, often hard to find.
In the candy paradise, almost all the scenes are made of candy, the gatekeeper of candy, the guardian dragon, the portrait of the founder of candy, the sphinx of candy, the underwater world of candy, cotton Sugar Pool... This San Francisco home has a Golden Gate Bridge made of candy.
Here adults and children are crazy. Of course, if you want to take a photo of the net red, you still need patience, and be quicker than accurate!

The end of the road
The western terminus of America’s iconic route 66, is not actually drivable and found jutting out into the Pacific Ocean along the Santa Monica pier.
The pier itself is a classic tourist attraction with souvenir stalls, the usual food or hot dogs and donuts and a funfair at its end. The pier is arguably one of the best examples of Americana in the sprawling city of Los Angeles and can be a wonderful, slightly childish escape from the often materialistic scene witnessed in the rest of the metropolis. #voyagevibes

I went to the west coast of the US for my first trip to the country.
This was in 2018, and the round trip took about 8 days. It was my first time there, and I went with a colleague on a group tour. As two girls, we felt safer on a group tour. Next time, I'll go to Yellowstone National Park or the east coast.
This time, the main itinerary was:
Santa Monica Beach (I didn't see any dolphins, but I did see seals. The sea was very blue and clear.) I checked in at the end of Route 66.
Horseshoe Bend + Antelope Canyon
Grand Canyon National Park + I took a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon.
Universal Studios Hollywood + Hollywood Walk of Fame
I went to two outlet malls and I recommend the Palm Springs Outlets.
The natural scenery was really good, and Universal Studios Hollywood is a must-visit. There weren't many people when I went, so the queues were short.
