Omiwa Shrine is the Ichinomiya of Yamato Province. Hibara Shrine is a shrine within the grounds. Amaterasu Omikami, who was enshrined in the Imperial Palace, was moved to Yamato Kasanui Mura and entrusted to Toyosukiirihime no Mikoto to enshrine her. Yamato Kasanui Mura became the land of Hibara. After that, Yamatohime no Mikoto, Toyosukiirihime no Mikoto's niece, traveled around various places and arrived in Ise Province. That was the beginning of Ise Shrine. Hibara is therefore called Motoise. In the grounds, there is a "Mitsutorii" consisting of three Myojin-style torii gates. It is also known as Miwa Torii. It is unclear why the Mitsutorii came to exist. Next to it is Toyosukiirihime-no-miya Shrine, which was built in 1986 and enshrines Toyosukiirihime-no-Mikoto. It's about a 20-minute walk from Sai Shrine, but as you walk through it like a light athletic course, you feel as if you've wandered into a mysterious, open space! You can also see Mt. Miwa on the way, so it's a place worth visiting. However, the shrine office was about to close at 3:30 p.m., so if you're looking for something to offer, it's best to go there with plenty of time.
