Ogami Shrine is the Ichinomiya of Yamato Province. It is said to be the oldest shrine in Japan, with Mt. Miwa as its deity. There is no main hall, but there are three torii gates ⛩ at the back of the worship hall. From the worship hall, you can pray towards the mountain through the three torii gates. This shrine still retains the form of primitive Shinto. The highlights of the shrine grounds are ◎Meoto Iwa ◎The snake in the chozuya ◎The Snake God Cedar (From the legend that the enshrined deity, Omononushi-no-Okami, transformed into a snake) Because the grounds are so large, it's impossible to see everything in one day!
