Abbey Church of St. Gallen

Founded by Benedictine priests in 719 AD, it was a very important religious and cultural center in medieval Europe. The monastery cathedral, completed in 1767, is in Baroque style. The murals in the church were painted by the Swabian painter Joseph Wannenmacher. There are murals of 60 saints on the central dome, with different shades of color, giving it a three-dimensional feel. The designs of the murals, organs, confessionals, sculptures, etc. in the church are all amazing. Church opening hours: Monday to Sunday 07:00 -18:00
