Butterfly Watching at Pang Sida National Park, Sa Kaeo

Went during the butterfly watching festival. The entrance fee to the park is 40 baht per person and 30 baht for a car. Inside, there are accommodations and camping spots available. However, for day-trippers, there are 3 main attractions: The first spot is Pang Sida Waterfall, which has parking, a coffee shop, and park facilities. As of June 29, 2014, the waterfall had no water. The second spot is a butterfly viewing pavilion. This is a checkpoint where visitors must register if they want to go to the viewpoint. There are a lot of butterflies here, but the staff suggests that the best time to see them is early in the morning from 8 to 10 am, and if it rains, the butterflies won't come out. The third spot is the viewpoint. The road from the second spot to this one is a gravel path, but it's drivable. The road has some potholes. When I went up, it had just stopped raining and the road was still okay. Also, because of the rain, there was fog at the top, which was a pleasant surprise. For those who want to go up, it will take some time. There are no restrooms at the top, but you can use the ones at the camping area before heading up.
