Ruili Day Tour

We were staying in Mangshi, and 10 of us rented a minibus for a day tour of Ruili. The fare was RMB 100 per person. The driver was a local and also served as a tour guide. Communication was smooth. We gathered at 8 am and left the city. The first attraction was the Nanyang Overseas Chinese Mechanic Anti-Japanese Memorial Hall, which has a statue of Tan Kah Kee and a monument to overseas Chinese who fought against the Japanese. The hall displays the outstanding contributions and sacrifices made by overseas Chinese mechanics and drivers on the Burma Road to transport strategic materials. We went to Wanding Port. The gate was closed, and there was a male and a female police officer standing inside the fence. We got off the bus and took some photos to prove that we had been to the border. At noon, we went to the One Village, Two Countries attraction. The ticket was RMB 39, and it was free for people over 70. The border was marked by a dry riverbed, and there was a 4-meter-high fence on the Chinese side. Burmese people were selling cigarettes outside the fence. After lunch, we took a stroll around Ruili Customs. The gate was closed, so we couldn't travel abroad. The food was not expensive. There was a buffet with more than 10 dishes, including meat and vegetables. I paid RMB 10 for my meal. On the way back, we visited several attractions, including Ruili Ancient City, Tree Hugging Buddha, and One Tree Forest. We got home at 7 pm. One Village, Two Countries
