|A 1,000-year-old tree. At the entrance to Nantan Village in Ruicheng County, Shanxi, there is a ginkgo tree that is over 1,600 years old. The tree is 25 meters tall and 5–6 people are needed to encircle it. Due to its age, it is known as the "King of Living Fossils" in Yuncheng City. The 1,000-year-old ginkgo tree is located at the entrance to Nantan Village in Ruicheng County, Shanxi, on the road from Nantan Mountain Valley to Jiufeng Mountain (where Lü Dongbin became an immortal). The tree is lush and tall, with a trunk about 30 meters in circumference, and is revered by the locals as a "sacred tree." According to legend, Lü Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals and the founder of Quanzhen Taoism, once helped people and educated the villagers under this tree. The hardworking, simple, and honest folk customs have been passed down to this day.
