Yongle Palace, Yuncheng, Shanxi | Admire the beauty of the Yuan Dynasty hall and murals.

Yongle Palace was built in the Yuan Dynasty and currently has four wooden buildings and 1,000 square meters of murals from the Yuan Dynasty. The murals are known as masterpieces in the history of Chinese painting and are treasures of ancient Chinese architecture and mural art. They are also one of the top tourist attractions in Yuncheng and even Shanxi. Yongle Palace is located in Ruicheng County, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province. Originally named "Dachunyang Wanshou Palace", it was built in memory of one of the Eight Immortals, Lu Dongbin. It was established in the second year of Yuan Dingzong and is known as one of the three ancestral temples of Taoism in China, along with Baiyun Temple in Beijing and Chongyang Palace in Huxian County, Shaanxi Province. It is also the largest and best-preserved Taoist temple in China. Originally built in Yongle Town, it was relocated to the site of the ancient capital of the Wei State in the Western Zhou Dynasty in Ruicheng County due to the construction of the Sanmenxia Reservoir from 1957 to 1966. 🌈Main attractions of Yongle Palace: 🎈1. Yuan Dynasty wooden buildings (4): Longhu Hall, Sanqing Hall, Chunyang Hall, and Chongyang Hall 🎈2. Yuan Dynasty murals: There are murals in all three halls. The "Chaoyuan Picture" in Sanqing Hall is world-famous. The mural is a cultural treasure (there is also a hanging statue at the north gate of Sanqing Hall, which can be viewed from the side) 🎈3. The caisson and top decoration inside the palace 🎈4. The glazed ridge beast on the roof of Sanqing Hall is the largest existing ancient building beast and is of great value. There is also a pair of cute little lions from the Yuan Dynasty in front of the hall. They are uniquely shaped and exquisitely crafted. 🎈5. The "Gate of Wuji" vertical plaque is the only completely preserved original wooden plaque from the Yuan Dynasty in the palace 🎈6.
