🏝️ Rottnest Island – Perth’s Tropical Paradise Just a Ferry Away! 🐾🌊☀️

#perthitinerary Looking for a dreamy escape from the city? 🌿 Just hop on a 30-minute ferry from Fremantle or a 90-minute ride from Perth’s Barrack Street Jetty, and you’ll find yourself on Rottnest Island (Wadjemup) — a stunning car-free island paradise filled with quokkas, crystal-clear beaches, and adventure! 🛳️🐿️ 🚴♀️ The best way to explore the island is by bike or e-bike. Cycle along scenic trails, past cliffs and hidden coves, and soak in breathtaking views! Don’t miss swimming and snorkeling at The Basin, Pinky Beach, and Little Salmon Bay 🐠💦 📸 The island’s biggest stars? The adorable quokkas! You’ll spot them lounging near trees and paths, especially in the morning or late afternoon. Get your selfie (respectfully!) with their famous smile 🥰📷 🏛️ History lovers can visit Wadjemup Lighthouse, WWII tunnels, and Aboriginal cultural sites that share the island’s powerful stories and Indigenous heritage 🌀🔥 🍽️ There are a few cafes and food outlets, but prices can be high 💸 (think $10 for fries), so bring your own snacks and refillable water bottles. 🥪💧 🏕️ Staying overnight? Try Discovery Rottnest Island for glamping with beach views ⛺🌅 — but book early as rooms get expensive, especially during holidays! ✅ Perfect for: Families 👨👩👧👦, Couples 💑, Solo explorers 🌍 📅 Best time to visit: Spring or autumn for sunny skies and fewer crowds 🎒 What to pack: Sunscreen, hat, snacks, water, swimwear, and a big smile! Rottnest Island is Perth’s picture-perfect escape — full of charm, wildlife, and unforgettable views! #rottnest #perth #australia #island #travel #couplestrip #beachlife #staycation #naturalwonders #thingstodo #seascapes #familytravel #poolhotel #resorts #museums #myitinerary #citydaytours #afternoonteatime #localfood #buffets

QUOKKAS - THE HAPPIEST ANIMALS IN THE WORLD? Quokkas, apart from a tiny colony on the Western Australia mainland, they are found only at Rottnest Island, nowhere else on Earth! These tiny lovely wild animals are said to be the happiest animal in the world! It´s thanks to their wide smile they present on their faces all the time and their friendliness. Quokkas are related to wallabies - small-sized kangaroos and they live in a big colony on Rottnest Island. They have almost no fear of humans and often they will come right up to you!:) Despite their friendly behaviour, please respect the fact, they are wild animals and it´s prohibited to touch them or feed them! Firstly, it´s dangerous for quokkas to eat humans food as well as get in touch with humans bacteria. Both can be deadly for these little creatures. Secondly, although Quokkas are very friendly, they can bite if feeling threatened. Rottnest Island is the perfect little getaway from the busy life of Perth. You can do just a one day trip or you can easily spend there a few nights. Rottnest Island covers 19km² and is just 18 kilometers off the coast of Western Australia. From Perth, it takes only 25 minutes by ferry from Fremantle Port or 45 minutes by ferry from Hillarys Boat Harbour. How much does it cost to go to Rottnest Island? The price is vary depending on which company you will use, but generally speaking, it's around 70 AUD per person one way and 100 AUD return with landing fee included. Rotto is a car-free zone, so there are no cars whatsoever. You can walk, use a tourist bus or rent a bicycle and ride around. To ride around the entire island took us around 3 hours, but with stops for a dip in crystal clear waters, you will definitely need more time! #awesomepic #couplestrip #historicallandmarks #travelinspiration #unforgettableexperiences #australia #quokka #rottnestisland #awesomepic
