It became the capital of the Kingdom of Italy in 1871 and the capital of the Republic of Italy in 1946. Culture and art: Together with Florence, it is the center of the Italian Renaissance, preserving a large number of Renaissance and Baroque buildings, sculptures, paintings, and other works of art. Tourist attractions Colosseum: A witness to the glory of ancient Rome, it can accommodate tens of thousands of spectators and is one of the iconic buildings of the Roman Empire.  Pantheon: A sacred temple under the dome, with exquisite dome technology and a large interior space, it is a masterpiece of ancient Roman architecture.  Trevi Fountain: The most romantic artistic fountain in Rome, where tourists often make wishes.
