[Rome, Italy] American Academy on Janiculum Hill

#0yentripnovember I went to the American Academy on the Janiculum Hill in Rome. This is a foundation that supports artists through private donations. Scholarship recipients recommended and selected from around the world, including the US, live here for 11 months, while working on research, creating and presenting their works. Unfortunately, there are no scholarship recipients from Asia yet. The scholarship recipients are a diverse group, from well-known individuals to children, and come from a variety of artistic fields, including architects, musicians, and painters. The city of Rome and the country of Italy will give them something new. It is also interesting that they hold presentations almost every week. Every time I look at the photo, I wonder if this barista actually exists, as the bar looks like a scene from a movie. So, just being able to drink the cappuccino he made for me made it worth coming to the American Academy. In the garden of the American Academy, organic vegetables and olives that can be used in cooking are grown on the farm, which sparked my imagination as to what kind of food they eat every day. ・ After all, the food here is managed by a project team led by Alice Waters of Chez Panisse! They also have an internship program, and they support the path to becoming a chef. The granola they sold was delicious.
