Wat Phothijetiyaram (Wat Ban Lao Hok) No. 101

Wat Phothi Chetiyaram (Ban Lao Hok, Nong Phue Subdistrict) Wat Phothi Chetiyaram (Ban Lao Hok Temple) is located in Ban Lao Hok, Nong Phue Subdistrict, Mueang Suang District, Roi Et Province. According to history, this temple was established in 2356 B.E., originally named Wat Phra That Lao Hok. Inside the temple, there is an important place, which is the Sim (old chapel), the year of construction is not specified. It is a rectangular solid Sim, made of brick and mortar, facing west. Inside the Sim is an image of the Buddha in the Mara-Vijaya posture. To the north of the Sim is the location of the chedi. Construction began in 2464 B.E. and was completed in 2470 B.E. It faces east and is surrounded by a glass wall. In addition, there are 2 more chedis, located to the north and east around the chedi. From studying archaeological evidence and the architectural style of this ancient site, It is classified as a local art of the Northeast, made by Vietnamese craftsmen, and is around the 24th - 25th Buddhist century.
