Located about 60 km from Rhodes Town, this medieval fortress offers a glimpse into the island’s history. The entrance fee is just €3, a small price for the stunning views and historical insights. The castle’s ruins are impressive, perched high on a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea. The climb up can be a bit steep, but the panoramic views from the top are absolutely worth it. Walking through the ancient walls and exploring the ruins gives a real sense of medieval life. After exploring the castle, I visited the nearby village of Kritinia, where I enjoyed a delightful meal at a local taverna. The area is also close to some lovely beaches, like Agios Pavlos, perfect for a relaxing afternoon.
