[Hokkaido] People on the island where you can buy souvenirs from Rebun Island✨

Rebun Island, Hokkaido. Cape Sukoton, the northernmost part of the island, is about an hour by bus from Kafuka Ferry Terminal, the gateway to Rebun Island, to Sukoton. When you get off the bus at Sukoton Cape, you will find Shima no Hito Rebunjima Main Store. You can purchase souvenirs unique to Rebun Island. There were many fresh sea urchins and seafood, such as Rishiri kelp and salmon kelp layered rolls, and freshly caught sea urchins. There are also sweets and accessories, so you can find all the souvenirs of Rebun Island here. I went there around 10:00 on a weekday, and there were several large tourist buses parked in the parking lot, so the store was a little crowded. I was able to try some samples, and I bought a few souvenirs, and they sent them to me free of charge, which was very much appreciated. There is also a cafe attached, and the kelp soft cream made with powdered Rishiri kelp seems to be popular. There was also a toilet at the northernmost part of the island. I thought that it was truly the northernmost part of Rebun Island. It is a little far from the ferry terminal, but I highly recommend this store because you can learn a lot about the charms of Rebun Island. Please visit it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 📍Spot name: Shima no Hito Rebun Island Main Store 55-1 Sukotontomari, Funadomari Village, Rebun Town, Hokkaido ☎️0163-87-2198 Business hours April to October 7:00 to 17:00 (closed in winter) #Domestic travel trip #Hokkaido #Rebun Island #Souvenirs #Cafe

Mount Rebun

Mt. Rebun Climbing Course The bus stop called Uchiji is the entrance. Some lodgings will provide a shuttle service to the trailhead. Mt. Rebun is 490m above sea level. It is about 4.5km one way, and takes 2 hours one way. If you are used to climbing, it will take about 3 hours round trip. However, you do not need heavy climbing equipment, and it is a course for beginners that can be tackled in sneakers. (Unlike other trekking courses, there are no flowers) The climbing course is just uphill. If you just keep climbing the mountain path, you will see what looks like the summit, but this is commonly known as the false summit (it was so cold that I almost gave up). But the summit beyond that is spectacular! We were lucky to have good weather, so we could see the blue sea, the clear sky, Mt. Rishiri, and Sakhalin in the distance. According to the locals, it is often foggy, so we were really lucky. The rice balls we ate at the top were also amazing. And Rebun is also beautiful at sunset! The ocean lit up by the setting sun was so beautiful I couldn't help but take a picture. #RemoteIslandTrip #RebunIsland
