Rainbow Mountain

Today we challenged Rainbow Mountain near vinicunca. We went up all the way up to the Top, 5036 meters above sea level to be exact. We been puffed by the end of the hike would underestimate it we been half dead. We been using coca leaves as chewing gum and rose water to clear the airways to survive this Hike. The beginning is not to bad, but the end is steep and slippery so watch out. We had to push each other up there, but the view made it all worth it. The Entry was 25 soles for Tourists and 15 for Peruvians. The Alpacas are well taken care of, they have places to run and food. You support the locals with a Tip (aprox 5 Soles) for those pictures. The animals looked very healthy and fit. up on top they sell an Apaca stew which was delicous. We booked the tour with a local Agent we paid roughly 120 Soles ( not included the above mentioned entry tickets) It included a breakfast and lunch buffet for before and after.
