Qingyuan Mountain Cultural Route

Qingyuan Mountain is where Master Hongyi spent his later years. After 5:30 pm, admission is free. We chose the cultural route, which is not difficult. We visited the Laojun Rock and read Master Hongyi's Zen words in the afterglow of the sunset. The mountain is quiet and peaceful, and you can overlook the whole city of Quanzhou. It is a great experience to strengthen your body and cultivate your mind. 1. Visit Laojun, meet Master Hongyi, and explore the cultural route: • Laojun Rock: Start your journey by visiting one of the 22 World Heritage Sites in Quanzhou and admire the earliest and largest Taoist stone sculpture in China. • Master Hongyi's Stupa: This is a must-see. After Master Hongyi passed away, his stupa was placed here. Feel the legendary story of the master's half-life as a layman and half-life as a monk. • Qianshou Rock: Built in the Northern Song Dynasty, it is one of the four ancient temples in Qingyuan Mountain, dedicated to the Song Dynasty stone sculptures of Sakyamuni and the Thousand-Handed and Thousand-Eyed Guanyin. 2. Ancient roads full of vicissitudes, full of history and culture: • Qingyuan Ancient Road: Qingyuan Ancient Road is the oldest walking path in the scenic area, where you can explore historical and cultural relics along the way. • Bixiao Rock: Visit the earliest, best-preserved, and southeasternmost Tibetan Buddhist stone sculpture of the Three Buddhas in China. 3. Go up and climb to the top of the Minhai Route: • Tianhu: Enjoy the beautiful scenery between the mountains and rivers. • Nantai Rock: A scenic spot where the three religions are united, and also a great place to overlook the city of Quanzhou.
