Qingdao is so much fun! Here's a guide for you!

Hey guys, I just got back from a trip to Qingdao and I absolutely love this coastal city! Here's a hot-off-the-press guide for you to follow. You can't go wrong with this! 🏘️Accommodation • Shinan District: Close to all the attractions and convenient for getting around. I recommend staying near Zhanqiao Pier or May Fourth Square. There are plenty of hotels and homestays to choose from. • Laoshan District: If you want to visit Mount Lao, it's more convenient to stay in Laoshan District. You can also enjoy the beautiful mountain and sea views. 🚗Transportation • Subway: The Qingdao subway is very convenient and can take you to all the attractions. • Bus: The bus network is also very developed, but some routes may be congested during peak tourist season. • Taxi: There may be some traffic jams during peak hours, so make sure to allow enough time. 📰Itinerary Day 1: Zhanqiao Pier → St. Michael's Cathedral → University Road → Xiaoyushan Park • Zhanqiao Pier: A landmark of Qingdao. Be sure to go early to see the beautiful sunrise. You can also feed the seagulls and enjoy the romance of the sea. • St. Michael's Cathedral: A Gothic building that's great for photos. Standing in front of the church, you can take photos that look like they're straight out of a European movie. • University Road: A must-visit for hipsters. The walls are covered with roses (in bloom from May to June) and there are all kinds of specialty shops. It's a great place to stroll and eat. • Xiaoyushan Park: You can overlook the entire old town of Qingdao and the sea. Red tiles, green trees, blue sea, and blue sky are all in view. Day 2: Badaguan Scenic Area → No. 2 Bathing Beach → May Fourth Square → Olympic Sailing Center • Badaguan Scenic Area: Known as the "World Architecture Museum," it has ten quiet and cool roads crisscrossed with buildings of various national styles along the roadside. Every photo you take here is amazing. • No. 2 Bathing Beach: Play in the sand and waves and enjoy the sun and beach. The sunset in the evening is beautiful and the atmosphere is perfect. • May Fourth Square: The iconic red sculpture "May Wind" is here. There's also a light show at night, where you can feel the modern vitality of Qingdao. • Olympic Sailing Center: You can take a sailboat out to sea and experience the feeling of riding the waves. The coastal night view is also amazing. Day 3: Xiaomai Island Park → Shilaoren Bathing Beach • Xiaomai Island Park: Like a garden on the sea, you can walk along the coastline and enjoy the sea breeze. It's so healing and looks great in photos. • Shilaoren Bathing Beach: The beach is wide and the sand is fine. You can see the rocks of Shilaoren. The sunset is breathtaking. 🍺Food Recommendations 1. Seafood: You have to eat seafood when you come to Qingdao! I recommend going to the Yingkou Road Farmers' Market, where you can pick out fresh seafood and then have it cooked at a nearby beer house. It's affordable and delicious. 2. Tsingtao Beer: You can't miss Qingdao's beer culture. Have a glass of freshly brewed beer. It's refreshing and cuts through the grease. 3. Mackerel Dumplings: A local specialty. The dumpling skin is chewy and the mackerel is tender and juicy. It's so satisfying. 4. Potstickers: All kinds of potstickers are great. The crust is crispy and the filling is full. Take a bite and the juice will burst out. 🚨Tips 1. Check the weather in advance. It's windy by the sea, so remember to bring a jacket. 2. If you're going to the beach, make sure to wear sunscreen to avoid getting sunburned. 3. Don't drink too much beer when eating seafood, as it may cause stomach discomfort.
