Leshan·Qianwei Confucian Temple

It was first built in the third year of Dazhong Xiangfu in the Northern Song Dynasty, rebuilt in the forty-sixth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, and in the ninth year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. Located at No. 297 South Street, Yujin Town, Qianwei County, Leshan City, covering an area of 24,000 square meters. From south to north on the central axis are the Wanren Palace Wall, Lingxing Gate, Panchi, Dacheng Gate, Dacheng Hall, Qisheng Palace, and east and west verandas on both sides. The Qianwei Confucian Temple is the largest among the Confucian temples in Sichuan. Outside the temple are Jiexiaofang and Kui Pavilion built in the Qing Dynasty, forming a pattern of one temple, one square and one pavilion. Confucianism is highly developed in Qianwei, and there is a local proverb that Buddha is in Emei, Taoism is in Qingcheng, and Confucianism is in Qianwei. There are 94 statues in the Confucian Temple, and 72 tablets of sages and Confucians are enshrined in the east and west verandas. During the Republic of China, the Confucian Temple was transformed into a girls' middle school, and later the County No. 1 Middle School.
