Anhui Tianzhu Mountain

On June 1st, Children's Day, it was raining heavily in Anqing in the morning, but it basically stopped by 10 am. We drove for 1 hour and 50 minutes along National Highway 318 to reach the Bamboo Fence and Thatched Cottage Homestay at the foot of Tianzhu Mountain. We set off up the mountain at 2:30 pm with light rain. From the visitor center, we took a shuttle bus for 13 minutes to the Dalongwo Cableway, then ascended the mountain in 6 minutes. The small loop from Lian Dan Lake to the foot of Tianzhu Mountain's main peak covered 3.9 km and took 3 hours. Tianzhu Mountain Scenic Area is located in Qianshan City, Anqing, Anhui Province. It is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction and a UNESCO Global Geopark, renowned as the "First Mountain of Jianghuai." The main peak, Tianzhu Peak, stands at 1,489.8 meters above sea level, resembling a towering pillar, hence its name. The scenic area is famous for its "Four Wonders": majestic peaks, peculiar rocks, beautiful waters, and secluded caves. It features the world's largest exposed ultra-high-pressure metamorphic belt geological wonder. Divided into eight major scenic zones, it includes highlights such as Tianzhu Peak, Feilai Peak, Lian Dan Lake, and Mysterious Valley—the latter hailed as the "First Secret Mansion of Granite Caves." Tianzhu Mountain is also the birthplace of ancient Wan culture and an important Buddhist Zen sanctuary, preserving inscriptions by historical figures like Wang Anshi and Li Bai. Suitable for visits year-round, it is a comprehensive destination combining geological research, natural sightseeing, and cultural exploration.
