Here, the lush green feels like a world apart—no pressure from concrete jungles, no compromises of workplace politics, only the breeze racing freely with the heart. ⭐️Majestic Scenery of the Frontier Huitengxile Grassland is a scenic area located in Chahar Right Rear Banner, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Situated in the northern foothills of the Yin Mountains and the eastern section of the Daqing Mountains, the area boasts abundant natural resources. The terrain is primarily undulating high plains, with an average elevation and a south-high-north-low topography. The geological structure is stable, and hydrological features include lakes and streams. The climate is temperate continental monsoon, with distinct seasons—cool summers and cold winters. Vegetation is dominated by temperate grasslands, making it an excellent pasture. ⭐️Serene Wilderness The region experiences a temperate continental monsoon climate characterized by long winters and short summers, with significant daily and annual temperature variations. Winters are cold, with temperatures dropping to around -38°C, while summers are cool, averaging 18°C, making it a perfect summer retreat. The area is windy year-round, with spring winds averaging 15–18 m/s (force 7–8), summer winds at 10–12 m/s (force 5–6), autumn winds at 12–15 m/s (force 6–7), and winter winds reaching 18–20 m/s (force 8–9). ⭐️Dreamlike Adventures 1️⃣【Huanghuagou】:“Clear water encircles pebbles, green grass accompanies yellow flowers” Huanghuagou is a winding valley at the western end of Huitengxile Grassland, a relic of ancient glaciers. Stretching over 10 kilometers, the valley is about 300 meters deep and 100–200 meters wide. The valley features exposed stones with smooth, simple textures, surrounded by cliffs, peculiar rocks, and layered peaks. At the bottom, springs flow gently, with clear water winding around pebbles and green grass adorned with yellow flowers. 2️⃣【Ninety-Nine Springs】:“Clustered springs, melodious lakes” Ninety-Nine Springs is a group of lakes scattered across Huitengxile Grassland. Despite the name, the actual number of springs far exceeds ninety-nine. Historical records and maps document these lakes, including notable ones like Shimen Haizi, Hongyan Haizi, Mawei Haizi, and Xiaoqing Haizi. In summer, these lakes appear as round mirrors surrounded by wildflowers, creating a picturesque scene. These lakes originated from prehistoric volcanic activity, forming numerous “volcanic craters” that later filled with soil, grass, and rainwater, evolving into circular lakes. While not traditional springs, they are referred to as “Haizi” (lakes) due to the scarcity of water surfaces in northern deserts. This naming convention was carried to Beijing by the Mongols during the Yuan Dynasty, leading to names like South Sea, Middle Sea, and North Sea. 3️⃣【Shencong Ridge】:“Lush greenery and auspicious vibes” Shencong Ridge is named after plants resembling onions. Rich in vegetation and boasting a pristine ecological environment, it’s an ideal spot to connect with nature and experience the charm of the grasslands. 4️⃣【Holy Mother Spring】:“Divine presence endures” Holy Mother Spring is a serene spring landscape with historical significance as a site for ancient religious activities. The clear waters and tranquil surroundings add cultural value to the area. 5️⃣【Shimen Bay】:“Peaks from every angle” Shimen Bay is a canyon landscape with cliffs on both sides and a narrow stone gate passage in the middle. Its rugged terrain and spectacular views make it a popular destination for exploration and sightseeing. 6️⃣【Wokodai Khan Palace】:“The valor of a great general” Wokodai, the third son of Genghis Khan, was a founding general of the Yuan Dynasty. Huitengxile features two command platforms associated with him. In 1230, he sought refuge at Ninety-Nine Springs, where he ordered his soldiers to bathe to restore their appearance after prolonged battles. 7️⃣【Huitengxile Wind Farm】:“The wind rises, clouds soar” Located on the Inner Mongolian Plateau, Huitengxile boasts high altitude and abundant wind resources. With an annual average wind speed of 7.2 m/s at 10 meters and 8.8 m/s at 40 meters, the area has a wind power density of 662 watts per square meter and long effective wind hours, making it ideal for wind farm construction. Since 1996, the wind farm has been under development, with a current installed capacity of 1.4 billion kWh and a planned capacity of 166.5 MW, set to become Asia’s largest.
