Pujiang's Minzhu Road Historical and Cultural District, find "nostalgia" right at your doorstep

"To understand the present, one should look to the past; without the past, there would be no present." Historical and cultural districts are the cultural calling cards of a city, and every city has its own old streets. For the natives of Pujiang, the old streets are Jiefang Road and Minzhu Road, now collectively referred to as the Minzhu Road Historical and Cultural District, commonly known as the back street. The cultural district is located at the very center of Pujiang County. With Qing Dynasty architecture as its tone, the old is renovated to look as it once did. Every building, every door and window, is restored as much as possible to its former appearance, presenting the original lifestyle of Pujiang residents. In 2016, it was announced by the Zhejiang Provincial Government as the fifth batch of provincial-level historical and cultural districts. After a transformation with 330 million in funding, the cultural district retains the nostalgia and exudes charm. Every brick and tile, every tree and well, tells the stories of the past. During the day, the cultural district is sparsely populated, allowing for a leisurely stroll to relive the graceful old times. The district includes a clothing street and a food street, with more than two hundred shops including catering snacks, calligraphy and antiques, jewelry and dining, etc., featuring a rich variety and distinct characteristics.
