Walking through its vast gardens, past fountains and flower beds, I explored the stunning Sanssouci Palace, once the summer residence of Frederick the Great. The palace’s rococo charm and terraced vineyards made it feel like a royal retreat frozen in time. I also stopped by the Neues Palais, with its imposing facade and detailed interiors. Later in the day, I took a regional train to Brandenburg an der Havel. Compared to Potsdam, it was peaceful and less touristy, with charming riverfronts and a lovely old town full of Gothic brick architecture. I enjoyed a slow walk along the Havel river, explored the St. Catherine’s Church, and admired the medieval city gates. This trip was a great way to dive into Prussian history while enjoying nature, lakes, and quiet streets far from the big-city buzz. Ideal for those who love architecture and relaxed riverside vibes.
