#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck One of the most memorable moments during my visit to Porto was São Bento Train Station (Estação de São Bento). It's more than just a transportation hub, it's like a living museum, telling the story of Portugal's history in every corner. As soon as I stepped inside, the first thing that caught my eye was the walls covered in over 20,000 traditional Portuguese blue and white azulejo tiles, arranged in paintings depicting historical events, from wars to dynasties to the lives of the people. These images are not only beautiful, but also allow us to "read" history through the art on the walls. This is a perfect blend of architecture and art. The station itself is also extraordinary. Designed by a 19th-century French architect, the exterior looks simple in Neoclassical style, but once you step inside, it's filled with intricate details. Another advantage of São Bento is its location in the heart of Porto. From here, you can easily walk to major attractions, such as: • Catedral do Porto (Porto Cathedral), just a few minutes' walk away. The cathedral's top offers a stunning view of the Douro River. • Rua das Flores, a lovely pedestrian street It's filled with cafes and handmade shops. • Avenida dos Aliados, the city's main square and street, is lined with historic buildings. • A short walk further brings you to Ribeira, along the Douro River, lined with bars and restaurants. For me, São Bento is more than just a "train station." It's a must-visit destination, even without taking a train.
