Ahmad Yani. The grand building showcased a blend of modern and traditional Indonesian architecture, a testament to the region's governance and development. Although not open for public tours, its imposing facade and well-maintained grounds provided a glimpse into the local administration. A short drive later, I arrived at the serene GKE Elok Church. This Christian church, a significant place of worship for the local community, presented a tranquil atmosphere. While information on its specific location was a bit sparse online, I found it to be a testament to the diverse religious landscape of Pontianak. The quiet contemplation within its walls offered a moment of peace amidst the bustling city. As hunger set in, I made my way to Ayani Megamall. This sprawling shopping complex is the largest in Pontianak, a modern hub for retail, entertainment, and of course, food. My stomach led me to a Japanese-inspired eatery. For lunch, I indulged in a perfectly crispy Chicken Katsu – tender chicken coated in golden-brown breadcrumbs, served with rice and a savory sauce. To complement it, I also enjoyed some flavorful Gyu Sausage, which added a delightful richness to the meal. The mall offered a comfortable and air-conditioned respite from the tropical heat, and the food was a satisfying end to a day of exploration.
