Polonnaruwa

The ancient city of Polonnaruwa is located in the northeast of Sri Lanka🇱🇰 There is an archaeological museum by the lake in the ancient city, which is the first stop (there are toilets here) The Royal Palace originally had seven floors, but the upper part was destroyed, leaving only the remains of the lower part, which is perfect for taking photos from a distance (there are different views at every corner) Next to the castle palace ruins is an Audience Hall, where the king received officials and visitors. There are lions on both sides for taking photos. Not far from the audience hall there is a royal bath (very beautiful ~ with reflections in the water) On the other side of the castle palace is a quadrangular courtyard with two architectural remains from different periods (⚠️You need to take off your shoes and hats) The Polonnaruwa Vatadage is an ancient building with completely different architectural carvings on both sides. Gal Vihara is famous for its large group of Buddha statues, including the famous reclining Buddha. Remember not to turn your back to him (disrespectful). The reclining Buddha has a smile on his face and looks very harmonious. You can stay here for most of the day~ walk slowly and swing slowly You can walk with Lion Rock~
