Kenting on the eve of the typhoon

I arrived in Kenting the day before the typhoon was due to hit. The weather forecast predicted heavy winds and rain the next day, but the sea and sky that day were incredibly beautiful. I stayed at the Guangxian Hotel. Opening the window, I was greeted by a sea of blue. Sunlight shone on the ocean, and the waves shimmered with a delicate light, as if sprinkled with gold dust. The salty breeze felt gentle on my face, completely devoid of the ferocious energy that would arrive the next day. I strolled through Kenting's streets at noon. There were fewer tourists than I'd expected. A window seat at a cafe was empty. I ordered an iced latte and watched the coconut trees swaying gently in the breeze. At that moment, time seemed to slow down. In the evening, I went to Mori Restaurant for dinner. Their fish was incredibly delicious, so fresh that the first bite made you want to close your eyes and savor it. Paired with the slightly salty ocean breeze, it felt like even your taste buds had been spoiled by the Kenting nightscape. In the evening, I made a special trip to Eluanbi to watch the setting sun cast golden rays through gaps in the clouds, painting half the sky red. The crash of waves against the rocks was a farewell song for this small town—for it would face the typhoon the following day. Kenting before the typhoon possessed a quiet yet magnificent beauty. The scenery that day was like a silent feast, forever imprinting in my memory the calm and romance "before the storm."
