#MarchGoodPlaces2025 Today is Christmas, December 25th. Before Christmas, all the churches will be decorated beautifully. The Taiwan Presbyterian Church is a church with a history of over 100 years. It was founded in 1871, and its annual lighting event always attracts many tourists to the church to check in and take photos. Two weeks ago, I saw on the Internet that there would be a lighting ceremony at 7pm, so my family and I wandered around Pingtung Park and took photos. We then walked slowly over half an hour before the lighting ceremony, as Pingtung Park is only a five-minute walk from the church. A Christmas light tree had been installed in front of the church gate and it looked very nice, but there were not as many people on the scene as I had expected, less than ten people. I was still wondering why the lighting ceremony had not started at seven o'clock, and after more than ten minutes I couldn't stand it anymore and checked online. Later I found out that it was a big misunderstanding. The lighting ceremony was at the Taiwan Presbyterian Church of Peace on Minzu Road, not the Taiwan Presbyterian Church of Peace on Ren'ai Road. The difference between the two words made a world of difference. I saw on Facebook that the live broadcast site was packed with people. Although the drive between the two places is less than ten minutes, it is conceivable that there will be no parking space nearby. I can only come back next week because there will be several lighting sessions, so I won’t go to join in the fun. The Taiwan Presbyterian Church also has a lighting ceremony, but the date has not yet been scheduled so we can only take some photos of the church's exterior and the Christmas tree lights here. We will come here again to take photos after the lighting ceremony date arrives. (20201225)
