Fuzhou Pingtan Houyan Island (68 Nautical Miles Scenic Area).

After hearing that the 68 Nautical Miles Scenic Area, the closest place on the mainland to Taiwan, has been upgraded and is receiving rave reviews, I couldn't help but feel a longing to return to this place. Houyan Island is a small island, but its unique natural beauty and rich cultural heritage are breathtaking. The island's rocks are varied in shape, and the sparse vegetation is a typical representation of "more rocks and less vegetation." The sea is clear and transparent, and the beach is as fine as silk. The island has a typical marine climate, with fresh air and a superior ecological environment. Stepping onto Houyan Island is like entering a fairytale world. The ground is covered with stones of various sizes, some in groups, some alone. They come in different shapes and colors, deep red, light yellow, light gray, resembling animals like turtles, weasels, leopards, hedgehogs, crocodiles, crabs, oysters, and sea snails, as well as gray herons, quails, hawks, and hens. Upon closer inspection, many of them resemble wild monkeys: red, yellow, fat, thin, old, young, male, female, gentle, and mischievous monkeys... Every scene is refreshing, and every shutter click captures the most beautiful picture. How did so many stone monkeys appear out of nowhere? The area near Pingtan is a world-famous wind tunnel, with an average annual wind force of over five or six. The sea breeze stirs up the waves, year after year, day after day, polishing the stones into animal shapes: the solidity of turtles, the roundness of weasels, the strength of crabs, the ferocity of crocodiles, the agility of hawks, and the eye sockets, thinness, agility, body, and cunning of monkeys. These hurricanes have also blown away the island's life, leaving only the primitive, the monkey groups, and their companions, a desolate sight. On Houyan Island, there is a stone carving in the shape of a stamp, with the topography of Taiwan and Pingtan engraved on it, echoing each other. The shared nostalgia of both sides of the strait actually stems from the same ancestry and origin...
