Peranakan Phuket Museum

Peranakan Phuket Museum is situated at 124/1 Moo 1, Sri Soonthorn, Thalang, Phuket 83110, the southern region of Thailand. This museum is open from 10:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening Mondays to Sundays. ‘Peranakan’ is a Malay word literally meaning “born here” and was initially used to describe mixed-race Chinese. The building that houses the museum was constructed in the time when the provincial government was headed by Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahitsaraphakdi (Korsimby Na Ranong) and was converted to an arts and cultural center illustrating the lifestyles and local customs of Phuket and its people through modern technological media.
