Wat Thamyan, Phetchabun Province

Wat Dhammayan is another beautiful and famous temple in Phetchabun Province. Inside the temple, there is a white chapel with a golden Phra Buddha Chinnarat statue inside, which has been considered the city's sacred Buddha image since ancient times. Outside the chapel is a large pair of Naga sculptures that can spray water. It is believed that if the Naga's water mist is exposed, life will be auspicious. Therefore, this temple is well-known and people come to make merit continuously. History 🙏🏻✨ Wat Dhammayan is located in Na Chaliang Subdistrict, Nong Phai District. This temple was built to commemorate the kindness of Luang Por Ruesi Lingdam of Wat Tha Sung. The word "Dhammayan", which is the ecclesiastical title of Luang Por Ruesi Lingdam, whose name is "Chao Khun Phra Suthamyanathera", was used as the name of the temple to convey the meaning that it is "a place that is like a vehicle (boat) that takes you to reach the Dharma". Inside the temple, there is a white chapel with a mountain range as a backdrop and a large pair of Naga sculptures that spray water in front of the chapel. The Naga sculpture is 35 meters long and is named Phraya Si Suthon and Phraya Si Sunan. The interior of the chapel is decorated in an exquisite style. Inside is the golden Phra Buddha Chinnarat, a Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya style that has been a symbol of the city since ancient times. There is also a statue of Luang Pho Ruesi Ling Dam (Wat Tha Sung) inside. Another important place in this temple is the Luang Pho Yim Grand Hall, which enshrines Luang Pho Yim or Somdej Phra Phuttha Thammayan, the principal Buddha image in the chapel. There are also Somdej Ong Pathom, Somdej Phra Chakraphat, Luang Pu Pan, Luang Pho Phra Ratchaphromyan, and 104 Buddha images enshrined around the chapel for Buddhists to pay homage to for good fortune. #Phetchabun
