Delicious food and fun activities, it’s really perfect for a weekend getaway~ Now I’m sharing my two-day Pengzhou travel guide with everyone, so quickly save it! Itinerary Day 1: Arrive in Pengzhou → Longxing Temple → Dashan Steamed Beef → Bodhi Coffee → Check in at Yuanshe Shuxiang Hotel → Rest for a while → Find food in the city (options include Huzi Rabbit, Scissor Potatoes at Jinlin Market, Ji Guokui, and other local specialties) Day 2: Yuanshe Shuxiang Hotel → Jiuchi Town (Zhao Lao San Fresh Goose Intestine Hotpot) → Intangible Cultural Heritage Zhou Lequan Guokui → Return trip Attractions Introduction Longxing Temple This ancient temple was originally built in the third year of the Xiankang era of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, with a profound historical background dating back over 1,700 years. It was initially named "Dakang Temple" and has undergone multiple renamings and expansions. The Longxing Relic Pagoda in the temple is quite famous, being one of the 19 existing authentic relic Buddha pagodas in China. The main pagoda is 81 meters tall with 17 floors, blending Han and Tibetan architectural styles, solemn and majestic. At Longxing Temple, you can stroll among the red walls and ancient cypress trees, feeling the tranquility and sacredness of this millennium-old temple, or climb the pagoda to overlook the beautiful cityscape of Pengzhou. Food Recommendations Dashan Steamed Beef This is a long-established "fly restaurant" in Pengzhou, holding a high status in the local food scene. The steamed beef is aromatic, and when mixed with garlic paste, coriander, chili oil, and other condiments, the taste is absolutely amazing. It has a bright color and rich aroma, making every bite extremely satisfying! Bodhi Coffee Located inside Longxing Temple, the shop offers a unique fortune-drawing coffee. After ordering, you can sit quietly inside the temple and enjoy the peace and comfort. Huzi Rabbit Huzi Rabbit is a Pengzhou intangible cultural heritage dish, originating in 1950. It is one of the local specialties, with the five-spice and spicy rabbit cubes highly recommended. It is dry and fragrant, especially suitable as a drink accompaniment. Zhao Lao San Fresh Goose Intestine Hotpot When in Jiuchi Town, you must try this fresh goose intestine hotpot! The goose intestines are wide and long, fresh and crispy. After briefly cooking them in the boiling hotpot and dipping in the sauce, the moment they enter your mouth is full of happiness. Besides goose intestines, their other dishes are also very fresh. The broth is rich and flavorful, becoming more delicious the longer it cooks, making it irresistible. Intangible Cultural Heritage Zhou Lequan Guokui As an intangible cultural heritage food, Zhou Lequan Guokui truly lives up to its reputation. Priced at 5 yuan each, the crust is crispy and not greasy. Note that this shop only offers pork filling. It is the most traditional pairing and preparation.
