2D1N Family Getaway at Desaru

We recently went on a short 2D1N family trip packed with variety — fun water rides, animal encounters, cultural stops, and a little beach time. Our main highlight was the Adventure Waterpark, perfect for cooling off in the extreme heat. The park had enough rides and splash zones to keep everyone entertained, especially the kids. Beyond the waterpark, we explored a few spots located about 30 minutes away — a Mini Zoo, Temple Street, and a local café. The Adventure Cove Mini Zoo is small and set near a natural gas plant, which might seem odd at first. But surprisingly, it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable parts of the trip for our child. The up-close interactions with small animals made it feel intimate and special, despite the industrial surroundings. We also enjoyed a peaceful walk along Temple Street, soaking in the cultural atmosphere, followed by a relaxing break at a cozy local café nearby — perfect for cooling down and recharging. At night, we brought fireworks to the beach to end the day on a high note. However, we were politely warned by the management that fireworks are not allowed on the private beach, so that was cut short. If you’re planning something similar, be sure to check the local rules beforehand — fireworks are often restricted in private areas for safety reasons. Overall, it was a short but fulfilling getaway with a good balance of water fun, animal interactions, local sights, and beach vibes. Just be ready for very hot weather — bring lots of water, sunscreen, and maybe even portable fans!
