#OverseasTravelStrategy During this 40-day trip, I learned that it's okay not to prepare everything perfectly, as well as to book flights, accommodation, and transportation in advance. The best way to travel is to relax and enjoy what you encounter in the moment! So, I've put together a list of things to prepare before traveling 👇 1. Find great deals on flights with Google Flights 🛫 ✅ Click "Explore" → "View Map" without specifying a date and destination to find the cheapest flight! ✅ Cheap tickets may have long layovers, so check the schedule as well as the price. ✅ It's the travel season in the UK and Europe in the summer, so airfares are high, so it's recommended to book at least six months in advance! ✅ You can often get a good deal if you buy on Trip.com! 2. Plan your route 🗺️ ✅ Clockwise or counterclockwise? Everyone has their own way of traveling, but I like the "return to base in a day" style! ✅ The advantage of a day trip is that you can save on accommodation costs** and you don't have to carry your luggage around. ✅ However, if the place is too far away, the travel time will be wasted, so it's a good idea to use the weekend to stay for 1-2 nights and explore the suburbs! 3. How to choose accommodation 🏡 ✅ Conditions for choosing accommodation: ✔ Good value for money & clean ✔ Near public transportation (reduces stress when traveling) ✔ Comes with a private bathroom (check as there are many communal showers in Europe) ✅ Be careful about whether or not it has air conditioning! ➡️ Many accommodations in Europe do not have air conditioning, so be careful especially in the summer! ✅ If you're staying at a hostel, choose a same-sex dormitory for peace of mind and comfort! 4. Save places you want to go on Google Maps 💡 ✅ The ultimate travel tool! It's super convenient to save places you want to go to on Google Maps in advance! ✅ If you create a list for each country, you can immediately see where everything is. ✅ Deciding your route for the day while looking at the map will make your travel smoother. ✅ Use the share function to share and edit information with your travel companions! 5. Useful apps for travel 📱 ✅ Wise – Instantly convert to local currency. However, a small conversion fee is charged. In the UK and Europe, I paid more than 90% of my payments with Wise, so I only needed to carry a minimum amount of cash! ✅ The Fork – An app that lets you make online reservations at restaurants in Europe. ➡️ Sometimes there are discounts of 30-50% off! ➡️ When I made a dinner reservation in Amsterdam, the regular price of €60 became €30! ✅ Other apps – Check out transportation information and online ticket purchasing apps in each country in advance! 🌍 The balance between preparation and flexibility is important when traveling!
