The Wat Phou temple is truly magnificent and absolutely beautiful!

Wat Phou Temple|||Wat Phou, a Khmer site that dates back to the 5th century, predates Angkor Wat by several centuries and is part of the World Cultural Heritage. The Laotians compare it to Cambodia's Angkor Wat and call them the two great landmarks of Indochina. The Wat Phou temple is named for its construction entirely from stone blocks carved with various patterns. The entire complex is vast, stretching down from the mountainside for hundreds of meters. The ancientness, grandeur, and power of faith here deeply attract me. Each stone carries a history of over a thousand years. I particularly love the century-old frangipani trees lining the roads; when the breeze blows, the frangipani flowers fall, scattering along the path to Wat Phou, resembling the blossoms that flourish before Buddha. It also reminds me of the Khmer smile, a work of art of great value that has been passed down through the world. The journey from Pakse to Wat Phou is about 40 kilometers, through empty and uninhabited land, with only a few European and American backpackers and locals in sight. It's rare to see other Chinese tourists. With few people and beautiful scenery, the effort to get here is well worth it!
