Yamachan Takoyaki

What a great sales tactic! 🤭 We arrived around 7 PM, and there were quite a few customers enjoying dinner and drinks after work. The interior isn’t very spacious, with a few four-person tables and bar seating along the wall. We chose to sit at the bar. The walls were adorned with Japanese menus and what seemed to be autographs of celebrities. It appeared to be a place frequented by locals, so we didn’t expect a Korean menu. Surprisingly, they had one! The staff promptly brought us a Korean menu, making it easy for us to choose our order. We decided on a set of 8 takoyaki without sauce and added a small portion of green onion topping, as we planned to have a beer each. Our takoyaki arrived! They were incredibly hot. I almost burned the roof of my mouth trying to eat them too quickly. Be sure to cut them in half, blow on them to cool, and then enjoy with a generous amount of green onions. Even without any sauce, the seasoning was just right. It’s rare to find food in Japan that isn’t overly salty. The set of 8 takoyaki costs 870 yen, and draft beer is 600 yen per glass. While the beer price isn’t particularly cheap, the shop’s convenient location near our hotel made it worth recommending. Plus, the taste was excellent.
