The Grand Canyon in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, China The Xilamulun Grand Canyon, geologically referred to as the Xilamulun Deep Fracture, is located on the southern edge of the Greater Khingan Range. It extends nearly east-west along the Xilamulun River, with a length of 340 kilometers and a width of 50 kilometers. The Xilamulun River, also known as the Huangshui, originates from the edge of the Hunshandake Sandy Land, within the territory of Haolaihure Township, and has a total length of 1250 kilometers, of which 151 kilometers are within the Keshiketeng Banner. It is the cradle and birthplace of northern ethnic groups. The renowned Hongshan culture, grassland bronze culture, Liao Khitan culture, and Mongol Yuan culture all originated along the banks of the Huangshui River, as the poem goes: 'After the sun rises behind the Hongshan, the dragon rises from the source of the Huangshui River.'
