The beach of Ibaraki!

#DomesticTravelRecord A day of strolling around Oarai Seaside Park! This park faces Onuki Beach, and was developed by Ibaraki Prefecture over a period of six years, starting in 1983. It is a comprehensive marine recreational facility with a multi-purpose plaza, promenade, and artificial hills, as well as showers and changing rooms (only open during beach opening hours, and charges apply). Adjacent to the park are the Marine Tower, Oarai Sun Beach, Oarai Wakuwaku Science Museum, and Oarai Marina. The reef is a geosite formed in the Cenozoic era, and the sight of the rough waves of the Pacific Ocean crashing against the ancient conglomerate is divine and poetic. The reef is said to have the most species of seaweed in Japan, and a seaweed forest spreads below the water surface. The rocks exposed above the water surface during low tide from spring to summer are home to a variety of marine life, and you can enjoy playing on the rocks in a lively mood.
