Visit the Two Brother Buddhas at Wat Thang Luang

🏘 Wat Thang Luang, originally named Wat Mai, was established during the Ayutthaya period. It later became abandoned until 1928 when it was restored. In 1935, the temple was renamed Wat Thang Luang due to the construction of the Bangkok–Nonthaburi highway adjacent to the temple, which was the first highway in Nonthaburi province. Key attractions within the temple include: 🏠 The Ubosot (Ordination Hall): Built in 1984 to replace the old, deteriorated hall. Inside, there are two principal Buddha images in the Mara Vijaya posture. The smaller image was the main Buddha of the old hall, while the larger one is the main Buddha of the new hall, earning them the nickname "Two Brother Buddhas." ⛺ The Viharn (Sanctuary): Houses a replica of the Buddha's footprint and the principal Buddha image, Luang Pho Sothon, along with statues of former abbots. 🏚 The Sala Kan Parian (Preaching Hall): Built in 1979 in traditional Thai style.
