This is Arajin Shrine in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture. The shrine is home to a magnificently large Zelkova tree that has been designated a Hyogo Prefecture historic site, place of scenic beauty and natural monument. The tree is 650 years old and is simply impressive. The shrine is also very peaceful, and it seems that this Arajin has come to be worshiped as the guardian deity of the local people.
